This book was noticeably less enjoyable and showed an author far more obsessed with celebrating killing than other Clancy novels。 And the main plot was poorly developed and too quickly wrapped up。 Average at best。

I expected nothing less from one of my favorite authors Marc Cameron when he wrote a Tom Clancy thriller - and Chain of Command is superb! Intricate subplots that weave together as you turn each page! Jack Ryan and all the characters that Clancy brought alive were definitely in good hands! This book is easily a 5 star Must Read。

Marc Cameron is a fine writer who has a good grasp of the Clancy characters and creates compelling original characters, but the extent to which they're stretching out Ryan's presidential term has become absurd and is really stretching this series' credulity to an extreme。 Keep in mind, this is the same presidential term that Ryan began way back in THREAT VECTOR in 2012, a decade ago。With the introduction in this book of a new vice president, who is now read in to The Campus, hopefully this is a Marc Cameron is a fine writer who has a good grasp of the Clancy characters and creates compelling original characters, but the extent to which they're stretching out Ryan's presidential term has become absurd and is really stretching this series' credulity to an extreme。 Keep in mind, this is the same presidential term that Ryan began way back in THREAT VECTOR in 2012, a decade ago。With the introduction in this book of a new vice president, who is now read in to The Campus, hopefully this is a sign that the publisher/estate is preparing to shift the series to a post-Ryan presidency。 。。。more

A better than average dead Tom Clancy novel。 Cameron has a nice sense of the classic Jack Ryan storylines。 Enjoyed this for the most part。 Not so sure about the logic for the bad guy, but what can you do。

finished yesterday 24th november 2021 good read four stars really liked it kindle owned。 a nice change-up, get to see some characters unique to this story, a new member of the team and since i don't have anything lined up to read as yet may as well look for some of cameron's other stories。 finished yesterday 24th november 2021 good read four stars really liked it kindle owned。 a nice change-up, get to see some characters unique to this story, a new member of the team and since i don't have anything lined up to read as yet may as well look for some of cameron's other stories。 。。。more

fast-paced, fun read。

Worthy next Clancy taleTook a bit to get into as the premise seemed a bit too far out there。 Ultimately it turned out the be a satisfying read。 Anything with Jack Ryan is worth reading with the proper author。 This author has proven an excellent successor to Mark Greaney。

What do you read with the chills from the booster shot, a Tom Clancy/Marc Cameron Jack Ryan Universe novel about big pharma。 Action packed thriller set in Argentina, San Antonio, DC, Japan, Afghanistan, and India。 I’ve been to all but one。

Exceptional Typical Mark Cameron。 Spellbinding from page one。 Informative, instructive, with beautiful character development。 Totally enjoyable。 Makes reading a pleasure。 Looking forward to more。

Clancy Universe is Out of Gas!Not a good read。 Pharmaceutical legislation prompts a national and international crisis? And we’re not even talking about Covid-19 vaccines。 The regular characters are here, it’s a good story that is missing。

lots of actionGreat read with plenty of intrigue! I miss Tom’s writing but this book is pretty good。 Keep the stories going!

Another great read from Marc Cameron and always on top of my must read immediately list。 Clancy novels are mostly complicated and bounce from many aspects of the story to finally come together near the end and thus takes a while to get into。Jack Jr does get sidelined in this one and we don't see him much in the latter half of the book。 The Campus needs more operators and are looking for recruits- did anyone else see the potential of Chilly as soon as he was introduced? HIGHLY RECOMMENDED。 Brilliant。 I've always been a fan of Marc Cameron - Jericho Quinn novels are immediately must-read for me - so I was thrilled when it was announced he would be taking over the Jack Ryan novels。 Each book has been better than the one before and 'Chain of Command' was a belter。 Just like reading Clancy himself。 Cameron is the perfect guy to carry on the Jack Ryan universe。 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED。 Brilliant。 I've always been a fan of Marc Cameron - Jericho Quinn novels are immediately must-read for me - so I was thrilled when it was announced he would be taking over the Jack Ryan novels。 Each book has been better than the one before and 'Chain of Command' was a belter。 Just like reading Clancy himself。 Cameron is the perfect guy to carry on the Jack Ryan universe。 。。。more

Can help but love Jack Ryan and Jack Jr! It was great to see some older characters come back and a few others step to the front。

Another Jack Ryan winnerChain of Command Book 21 in the Jack Ryan series does not disappoint, once you pick it up you will not be able to put it down until you are finished。 Then comes the letdown when you realize you have to wait until the next one。

The Campus is recruiting。 If you don't know about the Campus, you haven't been following the Clancy franchise very closely。 It's hard to review a book like this without giving the plot away, but I'll do my best。 A billionaire sets his sites on more money。 The First Lady gets kidnapped。 John Patrick Ryan steps down as POTUS (temporarily)。 The Campus narrows down its list of potential team members。 That's about all I can say without ruining it for you。 If you follow the series, pick this volume up The Campus is recruiting。 If you don't know about the Campus, you haven't been following the Clancy franchise very closely。 It's hard to review a book like this without giving the plot away, but I'll do my best。 A billionaire sets his sites on more money。 The First Lady gets kidnapped。 John Patrick Ryan steps down as POTUS (temporarily)。 The Campus narrows down its list of potential team members。 That's about all I can say without ruining it for you。 If you follow the series, pick this volume up。 It's harder to put it down。 。。。more

In this new, fast-paced installment of the Jack Ryan saga, the First Lady is kidnapped by mercenaries in the pay of a pharmaceutical cartel anxious to destabilize the US government。 Jack Sr。 removes himself temporarily from office, & the entire US military/law enforcement arm gears up to track/rescue her。 Cameron offers credible characters, great plotting, & technical expertise to give the reader an absorbing reading experience。

Marc Cameron's latest Tom Clancy espionage/thriller, Chain Of Command, hits the spot and keeps the reader glued throughout。 President Ryan is trying to normalize prescription drug prices and the quality of offshore imported medications。 Enemies quickly emerge as they scramble to protect their political and economic interests。 The novel shifts locations seamlessly as new and intense problems challenge the President and the recurring cast of familiar characters。 The V。P。 dies unexpectedly, and som Marc Cameron's latest Tom Clancy espionage/thriller, Chain Of Command, hits the spot and keeps the reader glued throughout。 President Ryan is trying to normalize prescription drug prices and the quality of offshore imported medications。 Enemies quickly emerge as they scramble to protect their political and economic interests。 The novel shifts locations seamlessly as new and intense problems challenge the President and the recurring cast of familiar characters。 The V。P。 dies unexpectedly, and somebody gets kidnapped。 Political shenanigans, violence, and raw emotion capture the reader leaving the audience begging for more—pure entertainment for all。 。。。more

It's prescription drugs that set off the action in this latest installment in a long running series that's easy to dip in and out of。 President Jack Ryan is trying to rectify issues with the pricing and quality of imported prescription drugs and that puts him, and his cabinet, at odds with villains who will stop at nothing to keep their economic place。 Oh, and then there's the other "stuff"。 As with all "Clancy" novels, this moves quickly from place to place- in this case, from Washington to Jap It's prescription drugs that set off the action in this latest installment in a long running series that's easy to dip in and out of。 President Jack Ryan is trying to rectify issues with the pricing and quality of imported prescription drugs and that puts him, and his cabinet, at odds with villains who will stop at nothing to keep their economic place。 Oh, and then there's the other "stuff"。 As with all "Clancy" novels, this moves quickly from place to place- in this case, from Washington to Japan to Afghanistan to Latin America to Texas (and other stops along the way)。 The sudden natural death of the Vice President raises an additional problem- who should Ryan pick? And then there's Cathy, who is kidnapped。 And Chilly (I'm a fan of Chilly who I hope will appear in future books), an intrepid good guy。 Fans will recognize many of the characters (and the list at the beginning is useful when you lose track as I did) and enjoy the new ones。 Unlike some novels in this genre, it's almost genial, with nice touches of humanity。 Thanks to Edelweiss for the ARC。 This isn't deep but it's a page turner and that makes it a great read for travel, whether by air or in an armchair。 I had a great time。 。。。more

READ MY FULL REVIEW AT Best Thriller BooksChances are extremely high that if Marc Cameron is putting words on a page… I’m going to read that page。 And once again… I’m happy that I did。 The Tom Clancy legacy is alive and well in Chain of Command。When a corrupt billionaire is hell bent on influencing American policy to enrich himself further, he employs a series of disinformation campaigns and then escalates into direct action against the President of the United States。 The question is, how do you READ MY FULL REVIEW AT Best Thriller BooksChances are extremely high that if Marc Cameron is putting words on a page… I’m going to read that page。 And once again… I’m happy that I did。 The Tom Clancy legacy is alive and well in Chain of Command。When a corrupt billionaire is hell bent on influencing American policy to enrich himself further, he employs a series of disinformation campaigns and then escalates into direct action against the President of the United States。 The question is, how do you come at the most powerful (and protected) man in the world? Overlapping stories keep this book moving quickly。 The regulars are back along with a new group of baddies。 Everything gets tied up nicely in the end。
